Turn 67 • Day 3Turn 3 of 32

The morning air off the Parramatta River carried a sharp, metallic chill as Ryan made his way down from his sixth-floor apartment toward Rhodes Station, his canvas messenger bag slung securely over one shoulder. Around him, the dense cluster of glass-and-steel towers cast long, geometric shadows across the paved walkways while commuters in charcoal and navy coats streamed toward the transit gates with practiced, silent efficiency. Pausing near the station entrance to check his transit pass balance, Ryan felt his phone buzz against his palm with a priority notification from the corporate mail server—an automated dispatch receipt routed through the external vendor portal ahead of the morning shift.

Idly thumbing the screen while he waited for the pedestrian signal to clear, he opened the attached PDF invoice sent by one of Corravale's third-party freight contractors. The document was dense with standard shipping metrics, item codes, and pallet weights for the upcoming spring beverage launch, but a specific line item near the bottom caught his eye. Listed under the primary distribution routing was a designated delivery address for a bulk pallet of promotional materials: Facility 7-B, Sub-Level Dock, Foundry Road Extension. Ryan stopped walking, causing a hurried commuter behind him to sidestep with a muttered apology. He frowned down at the glowing display, rolling the name over in his mind. He had coordinated every logistics manifest for the Barangaroo office for three years, and he had never encountered a facility or extension bearing that designation anywhere near the metropolitan distribution hubs.

The automated slide doors of the station concourse parted with a pneumatic hiss as a northbound freight service rattled past on the adjacent line, vibrating the concrete beneath his sensible leather shoes. Tucking his phone away with a lingering sense of quiet disorientation, Ryan stepped through the gates, his fingers brushing against the mysterious yellow sticky note tucked inside his coat pocket. With the 7:42 train still a few minutes away, the ordinary rhythms of the morning commute felt suddenly out of alignment, leaving him with an unspoken urgency to reach his desk and pull up the master warehouse manifests before the rest of the marketing pod arrived.

No suggestion won this turn. The story continued on its own.
